WOW. We ordered our food and there was a small issue with our order. The owner made it right immediately without us even asking. This place is run old school and run right. There are so many regulars in here and you can see why. The owner interacts with all of her customers like family. The portions of the food are huge and it all tasted greats. We are here from out of town but if we are ever back in the area, we will be back!

I had the opportunity to visit Sophia's randomly and I'm glad I came here instead of the chain restaurant on the corner. The atmosphere gives 'throwback' vibes. From the box tv in the corner showing The Price is Right, to the frosted inlays at the worn booths, and the finger snapping Christmas music playing overhead, Sophia's felt homey and comfortable. The menu is pretty extensive for breakfast and lunch with gourmet offerings like marscarpone crepes, Eggs Florentine, pita beef, various Panini and soups. I am a creature of habit and decided to try the grits and a side of bacon. The bacon was crispy without my having to ask. Yum. The grits weren't my favorite. My waitress, Ashley, was attentive and checked in often. When I shared that the grits didn't give what I was hoping for, she promptly removed them from the table and the bill. I opted for a 1/2 order of the biscuits and gravy and was far more satisfied. Hot and well seasoned! Overall, I enjoyed the environment, service, and meal. I'll likely return when in the area again.

Fantastic!!! The construction on the freeway at their exit has absolutely crushed this local favorite. Let me tell you, it's really...really good. Not sure how much longer the freeway work is going on, but I sure hope this place makes it.

Sophia's is our spot. We love the family atmosphere, the diversity, and the all-ages crowd--it's always welcoming. We're there at least once during the week and once on the weekend. The waitresses are always great, and I love seeing the same familiar faces every time. The breakfast and lunch portions are generous, the coffee is excellent, and it's the best way to start the morning. And yes... the pancakes!

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5. I thoroughly enjoyed Sophia's House of Pancakes. The food was delicious and had very nice portions. I had the Gyro Skillet w/cheese grits, and we also had the "Benton Harbor." Also, I enjoyed the high level of professionalism and service. Our server, Megan, served us as we were a guest in her home. We were greeted extremely well by leadership and had great conversations. The Pancakes were huge and tasted extremely well. This place will easily become my once a week dinning home away from home! Edit: Food, service, and atmosphere are amazing! The French toast is now my favorite, and all the servers are amazing. Sophia's is one of the best in Benton Harbor!
